So I read something in Dave Cullens book about how the rest of the Columbine evidence collected by Jeffco is supposed to be released in 2027 or 2028 I think..Does anyone know if there's any truth to this? I've read that his book isn't the best to read for information about Columbine so I thought I'd ask. I know I'm not the only one who'd like to see the Basement Tapes in their enitirety.
Also, is "No Easy Answers" worth the money? I'm dying to know more about Dylan and this seems like the next logical step..Thanks.

I know this community is pretty inactive but I thought for the few that still check regularly, I would post something I found not too long ago
Odd Future's Tyler, The Creator, praises Eric and Dylan on Twitter on Columbine anniversary
Both Odd Future and Tyler do mention Columbine and V Tech in a few of their songs. I can't help but find some irony in this, as Eric was definitely not a fan of hip-hop and I don't think Dylan was either (though if my memory serves me right, I think he did like 2Pac), and considering the racist slurs against Isaiah Shoels before they killed him, the Basement Tapes, and Eric's journal. However, their lyrics are pretty violent and nihilistic and they rap about gory stuff, so maybe E & D would be fans if they were still alive.
Anyways, I'm bored and thought I'd share.

Hello all, this entry is difficult to write, but this has been on my mind for months. I mourn the death of someone I have never met. Someone I would have never even heard about were it not for the atrocities they had committed. After reading about and doing research on the Columbine shootings and the shooters themselves, I find myself infatuated with Dylan Klebold.
Not for what he did, I do not condone that in any way. But after reading all his journal entries I was honestly touched. As I read them I could feel his emotions, that bone deep suffering. The feeling that no matter what you do you feel you will never find someone who truly understands you.
I believe that Dylan was convinced there was no other way out of his suffering, he was young, naive, and taken for a ride. Eric was a sociopath, and if you know anything about sociopaths they are extremely manipulative and convincing. But that does not absolve him of guilt, I understand that.
I guess the point of this post is to see if anyone else interested in this fascinating individual has ever felt the same. Thank you for reading my ramble.

Does anyone have working download links for video footage of Eric and Dylan? ANY of it. I've tried the download thread at the SCMRPG forums but they are all broken links. :/ I'd really like all the footage I can get for a video project and I'm sure somebody here has it to share...
Please?

A Facebook user, posing as Columbine killer Eric Harris attempted to “friend” several former Columbine students who attended the school when the tragic shooting happened.
The mother of one student, who wanted to remain anonymous, notified 7NEWS that her son, along with other former Columbine students, had been contacted on Facebook by a user purporting to be Harris.
The user’s profile features disturbing images of Harris wielding guns. Under personal information, the user claims to be from Wichita, Kan., and to be a manager at Blackjack Pizza, just like the real Harris was.
“When someone like this posts these things and then tries to contact former students of Columbine, I think that's clearly harassment,” said Brian Rohrbough, whose son, Daniel, was killed in the shootings.
Rohrbough called on Facebook to more closely monitor fraudulent profiles.
“Facebook, in my opinion, is actually an accomplice to what I consider a crime here,” said Rohrbough.
7NEWS contacted Facebook’s press office. In a statement, Facebook spokesman Simon Axten said, “Facebook has always been based on a real name culture. This leads to greater accountability and a safer and more trusted environment for the people who use our service. It’s a violation of our policies to use a fake name or operate under a false identity, and we encourage people to report anyone they think is doing this.”
The Columbine parent who contacted 7NEWS said when her son received the friend request, he reported the page to Facebook, but the page remained. It was not until 7NEWS informed Facebook about the page that it was disabled.
But 7NEWS discovered more pages of users purporting to be Harris or Columbine shooter Dylan Klebold. Some pages contained disturbing status updates, including one that read, “Me and Dylan Klebold are shooting up the school.”
Rohrbough said not only should Facebook remove those pages as well, harassment charges should be brought against the users.
“Facebook has got a real obligation here to stop this from happening, to stop allowing these posts,” said Rohrbough.
Harris and Klebold shot 12 students and a teacher to death during the Columbine massacre on April 20, 1999. A total of 23 others were injured. Harris and Klebold later turned the guns on themselves.

| Suicide pact twin wrote to Brooks Brown |
[22 Nov 2010|12:37pm] |

Kristin Hermeler killed herself at a shooting range just 20 miles from Columbine High School where 13 students were shot dead by two gunmen
Kristin Hermeler, who took her own life in an attempted suicide pact with her twin sister last week, wrote letters to and phoned one of the survivors of the Columbine High School massacre in 1999. Kristin, then 18, wrote to Brooks Brown, a former friend of the killers, in the months after Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris murdered 12 students and a teacher in April 1999 at the high school in Denver's southern suburbs not far from the gun range where the two women shot themselves last week. In the first of two letters, dated June 12, 1999, Kristin said she was writing ''as someone who has been rejected, victimised and ostracised in their life'' to thank Brown for giving Harris a second chance at friendship, adding in the second letter, a month later, ''not a day goes by that I do not think about what happened. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you, dealing with everything.''
Mr Brown said he had received letters, phone calls and emails from Kristin, who told him she and her sister Candice had been bullied ''physically and mentally''. ''It was a sweet letter,'' Mr Brown said. ''It was her wanting to know what had happened, trying to understand.'' The letters, published by The Denver Post, indicate the twins had a far stronger connection with the city than previously known. The Hermeler twins, the only children of South African-born Ernest and Kelsay, attended secondary school in Bendigo and private schools in Melbourne. They shot themselves at a gun range near Denver last Monday afternoon. Kristin, 29, died at the scene. Candice survived her shooting and remains in a serious condition in a Denver hospital. Candice was asked about the Columbine connection during her emotional two-hour interview with Araphaoe County Sheriff's office investigators last Thursday. This was after a copy of a Time magazine cover (OP note: reported to be "The Monsters Next Door" issue) showing both the killers and victims of the Columbine massacre was found in their luggage. In an early police account, she was said to have responded that she did not care about it and that it happened a long time ago. The Post report says her actual response was more blunt: ''I don't give a f---.'' Judy Brown, the mother of Mr Brown, said she recalled long phone conversations with the ''sensitive and sympathetic'' girls in 1999. Mr Brown, who had been friends from the age of eight with both Klebold and Harris, fell out with the killers in their mid-teens. Harris posted death threats online against Mr Brown. The threats were known to authorities, but had not been followed up. Mr Brown and Harris had reached a rapprochement of sorts and, after meeting Mr Brown in the school grounds in the minutes before the massacre, Harris warned him that he should go home.
"A sweet letter" ... a part of a letter she wrote to Brooks Brown, a childhood friend of the shooters Bullying at Columbine, although later discredited, was widely reported as the spark that caused Klebold and Harris to explode. It resonated for Kristin Hermeler, who appeared to recognise a kindred spirit in Mr Brown, and a sounding board in his mother, Judy. ''It never goes away,'' Mrs Brown told the Post. ''Bullying changes who you are and who you become.'' The release of the letters and the identity of the author are a haunting echo for Denver. Columbine was the worst high school massacre in US history, perpetrated by two suicidal, teenage suburban killers. It was an assault that came out of nowhere and a worldwide media event that touched impressionable and hurting teenagers in unanticipated ways. ''It completely baffles me as to why anyone would hate anyone when they don't know them,'' Kristin wrote in her second letter to Mr Brown. ''It sickens me … The only reason I can think of is, as Charles Spencer said at Princess Diana's funeral, that goodness is threatening to those on the opposite end of the normal spectrum.''

| Suicide pact Australian twins shot in Denver carried articles about Columbine |
[20 Nov 2010|11:29am] |

AUSTRALIAN twins Kristin and Candace Hermeler were carrying articles about one of America's worst school massacres when they shot themselves in a bizarre suicide pact.
The revelation has made their transformation from cheerful best friends in a middle-class Melbourne family to an unimaginable death plot at a shooting range more difficult to understand. As police interviewed the surviving twin, Candace, officers said a search of their bags had found magazine articles, clippings and letters related to the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School. "But there was never anything we came across to indicate that they had intended to do another Columbine," Arapahoe County Sheriff's office Captain Louie Perea said. The pair turned .22 pistols, which they had rented for $20, on themselves at the Family Shooting Range in Denver, Colorado on Monday, leaving Kristin dead. In terrible scenes, the pair fell backwards simultaneously before Candace, with blood pouring from a bullet wound in her own forehead, stumbled towards her sister's body. Known as Candy, the 29-year-old was "devastated, frustrated, distraught and angry at times" during a two-hour interview with police. She repeatedly declined to say why she and her sister had shot themselves. Her former teachers at Girton Grammar School in Bendigo were stunned. The women attended the school when their father Ern Hermeler became a Bendigo Bank executive. Mr Hermeler and the twins' mother, who settled in Melbourne 40 years ago after migrating from South Africa, were expected to arrive in Denver yesterday to be with their surviving daughter. "The girls were beautifully behaved, well groomed, delightful students who were always cheerful and good natured . . . the girls were the best of friends," headmaster Matthew Maruff said. Former classmate from the twins' first high school, Tintern Anglican College in Melbourne, Christina Zertopoulos, said they had been hard workers. "It's horrible, I can't believe it. They were intellectual girls. They were quiet," she said. They returned to a Melbourne private school for their final two years and both completed double university degrees. Together they had travelled to Canada, San Francisco, North Carolina and had worked as nannies. They had spent five weeks in Denver on cultural exchange visas. One of the twins had been due to leave on Tuesday. Their cousin Jacky Sole in Washington said the pair were raised in a comfortable, middle-class family. "They grew up in a loving home. They didn't lack for anything," she said. Another relative said: "They were close, they knew each other, loved each other." Captain Louie Perea confirmed the twins had made a suicide pact. "The surviving sister has confirmed that they had planned to commit suicide together, and did in fact shoot themselves," he said. ( Read more...Collapse )Source

I didn't see anything mentioning this, so I thought I'd bring it up, as I just heard about it about 10 minutes ago after typing in "Columbine" in Facebook's search bar. Dave Cullen's book came up, but on that page was a link to the following article:
'Beautiful Boy': Raise a Glass for the Columbine Killers' Parents
It's a fictionalization about the family of an 18-year-old boy who goes on a shooting spree at college. Columbine is mentioned in the article, but there's nothing about VT. I was most drawn to it when I saw the actors playing the parents: Maria Bello and Michael Sheen, both of whom I really like as actors; Alan Tudyk will be in as well (adore him), and also... Meat Loaf? Okay. The movie is to be released some time this year (if it hasn't been already).
Trailer
Was gonna post a link to the Wikipedia entry... but there isn't one yet.
IMDb
It's possible others have heard of this, and I know there are other movies which use school shooting events as basis for their plot. But this one is pretty new, with the last national headline grabbing shooting happening in 2007 (at least as far as I know; with a large number of victims, anyway).
Edited to add: I just watched the trailer (after posting, kinda silly) and it nearly brought me to tears. Looks extremely well acted, by those portraying parents as well as Kyle Gallner, who portrays the gunner.

| Possibly weird |
[18 Sep 2010|11:57pm] |
Some non-related background:
I know these comms are all but dead, but they aren't deleted, so I still check every so often (as I'm sure others do). So I don't necessarily expect replies any time soon (if ever).
Some related background:
"Academic violence" is a fascination of mine because the timeline of various school shootings (age/grade of killers/victims) seemed to coincide with my own age. I'd all but forgotten such a fascination (obsession, if you will) in 2007, when the Virginia Tech shootings happened. Again, the shooter was an English major (which I had been; changed to General Studies) and was my age. I feel that school shootings resonate with my generation on some level or another because they became almost common.
Anyway, I had a (possibly weird) question. After the VT shootings I wanted to buy a shirt from their online merch store -- my college had deemed that Friday "Maroon and Gold day" (gold or orange; not sure what they use) and I wanted an actual VT shirt, but ended up not getting one.
I can still buy VT shirts from their store, but I haven't found an official Columbine store. However, I did find a few generic sports memorabilia sites, and played around with jersey numbers (rotating 15/13/1 and using the date 1999). I haven't purchased a shirt, though if I were to indulge what I feel is almost a dark vice, I would. Is that... strange? Disrespectful? I mean it in memorial and because, as I said before, these events had a definite impact on my childhood/young adult life.
Just wondering what you guys thought.

| Random thoughts |
[22 Aug 2010|09:19pm] |
What's your opinion on the January incident that Eric feels so strongly about?
Or the rumors that Eric was in jail the weekend before? and if he was then why?
Dylan's death..and everything surrounding it...also if killed by police why wouldn't the cops admit it? also why wouldn't they have saved more children?
Jefferson county's corrupted history with law enforcement? possible pedophile ring?? (Judi chase )also why is there such a large numbers of deaths among children with in such a small area. possible Illuminati ties?
Possibility that Eric's house was searched by cops in April of 98..What did they find and if they did find weapons why didn't they do anything..
I know they were aware of Eric's plans and knew he had weapons so how and why was he let to commit this act?
why would he be givin such an experimental medication when they knew he was homicidal and suicidal?
what do you think would be so revealing on the Nixion tape? why do you think law enforcement would seal it? is there possible incriminating evidence on those tapes against law enforcement? maybe he speaks of there pre-knowlede ?
what is the hole purpose for the cover up? simply covering there mistakes? or did they know enough before hand to prevent it? then it would be an event executed by law enforcement and Eric and Dylan.
also if this is true then what do you think would be the purpose of this?
with Jefferson County's not so clean or truthful history i think this is at least worth looking at.

| Basement Tapes (Petition) |
[04 Jan 2010|07:10am] |
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/basementtapes Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold (shooters at Columbine Massacre) recorded several home videos that gave some insight as to why they did what they did on April 20, 1999. I am starting this petition to hopefully promote release of the basement tapes to the public to answer some unanswered questions about the Columbine massacre. These tapes contain some of the killers' motives, goodbyes to their parents, and show some of the weapons and bombs they used in the massacre (see http://www.acolumbinesite.com/quotes.html). I believe the release of these tapes, as previously stated, will clear up a lot of confusion concerning motives as well as the personalities of the killers. A good percentage of the public, including myself, would like to know more about these unlikely killers and their horrific last statements to those who were involved in their lives.
